Mila Stepanovic is an independent industrial designer and researcher born in Belgrade, based in Milan, working worldwide.

She graduated from Industrial Design (BA, 2009) and Design&Engineering (MSc - cum laude, 2016), and holds a PhD in Design (awarded at Politecnico di Milano, 2022).

Her design projects cover different products, from physical to digital, from wearables to public spaces.
Her research focuses on critical design theories and practices, behavioural design, design for sustainable development, and technologies.
Mila has been collaborating with Design Department of Politecnico di Milano, ITU Copenhagen and numerous Italian companies, where BLS group, Extravega, Ideaplast, Comftech, Artexe, and others.

Some of her works were exhibited at prestigious places and events, such as The National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci in Milan, Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade, MakerFair in Rome, and Human Factor Day in Milan.
She is the author of various scientific papers and journals and contributed several books. Mila is a co-inventor of several international patents. Since 2017 she has been a lecturer at Poli.design at Master of Industrial Design Engineering and Innovation, and a teaching assistant at the Design School of Politecnico di Milano. She is collaborating with Domus Academy and IED- Instituto Europeo di Design at co-organising and facilitating workshops.
